Incident
Deputy Christian was shot in apparent retaliation by the brother of a man he had shot and killed a few weeks earlier during an attempted arrest. The brother shot Deputy Christian in the same store where the previous shooting had taken place.
Deputy Christian was transported to a hospital in Pineville and died two days later from his wounds.
The suspect, Gregory Lee, was never charged with the crime.

This is my grandfather, Neal, who I never got to meet. Family doesn't know date of picture. Wasn't he handsome.
