Incident

Patrolman George Moulat was shot and killed by a suspect he had arrested earlier in the evening during a traffic stop. During the initial stop the driver became combative and resisted arrest.

While in custody the man threatened to kill Patrolman Moulat when he was released. A short time after he was released, Patrolman Moulat's body was found in his patrol car in the downtown area suffering from a shotgun blast.

Two suspects were arrested and convicted of his murder.

I was only 6 years old when you were taken from us Although I don’t remember you other then mom telling us you were gone & going to your funeral I love you & I’m sure we had plenty of good times or even bad I was robbed of many of things I’m sorry I didn’t turn out better I’m sorry that your life was taken so early & so abruptly I try to imagine my life if this would’ve happened My life with you in it All in all I love you & miss you & will always be left wondering IF Don’t get me wrong I am not blaming you Only the coward son of a bitch that did this to you To us To our family I love you daddy! Rest easy!
