Paramedic Johnson was tending to a patient in the back of the ambulance (returning the patient home from dialysis) when a fatal accident occurred. As the driver of the ambulance attempted to pass another vehicle, the ambulance struck an oncoming van head on. The driver of the oncoming van was also killed.
The accident occurred at approximately 3:55 p.m.
