Deputy Constable Edward P. Neu

Deputy Constable Edward Neu was shot to death during a motor vehicle stop. At 9:45 PM, Deputy Neu pulled over two automobiles that appeared to be racing each other. As Deputy Neu dismounted from his motorcycle, both drivers exited their vehicles and one of the drivers drew a pistol at Deputy Neu.

The suspect ordered Deputy Neu to surrender his weapon and then shot him twice in the chest. As Deputy Neu lay on the ground, the suspect shot him a third time in the head. The suspects escaped and it is unknown if they were captured at a later date.
