Deputy Aaron Paul Roberts

Shortly after clearing from a 911 hangup call, Deputy Roberts radioed that his car had been swept from the roadway by water. Dispatchers were unable to make any further contact.

Numerous law enforcement, fire, and search and rescue personnel responded to the area and launched a massive search. Approximately two hours later, Deputy Roberts was located inside his vehicle approximately 100 feet off the roadway and 50 yards downstream.

Deputy Roberts had served with the agency for approximately one year and had served with the Willard Police Department for four years previously.
