Incident
Patrolman Creech was shot and killed by the family members of a man the he had arrested a few days before Christmas. Patrolman Creech and a deputy sheriff from Harlan County were fired upon when they encountered the family members and their friends on the street. The deputy was wounded but survived. Two of the family members were wounded and another killed in the exchange of gunfire.
