Reserve Deputy Bruce Russell Gadansky

Reserve Deputy Gadansky died from complications of COVID-19 contracted in the line of duty.

Due to the pandemic, the Sheriff's Office discontinued most activities that utilized reserve deputies. However, when it came time for the annual National Drug Take Back Day -- a program conducted in partnership with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and in which Deputy Gadansky had significant experience, Deputy Gadansky volunteered to assist.

Tragically, Deputy Gadansky became ill just days later and was diagnosed with COVID-19. He died weeks later from the illness.
