EMT Patricia Ann Castle

In March, 2004, EMT Castle was attending a patient in the back compartment of an ambulance during a non-emergent transport. As the ambulance crossed a railroad crossing, the ambulance was struck by a coal truck. The patient expired from injuries sustained in the crash. EMT Castle was thrown into a cabinet and suffered injuries that paralyzed her from the chest down.

EMT Castle died on February 8, 2007, from a myocardial infarction believed to be tied directly to her medical condition resulting from the ambulance crash.
