Deputy Garcia was a Hazardous Materials Specialist, WMD and Counter-Terrorism Responder of the Indiana Department of Homeland Security, Fire and Building Safety Division. He was a Special Deputy with the Vigo County Sheriff's Department and was representing that agency on the Task Force. He was also a member of the Putnam County and Sullivan County Sheriff's Offices as well as a Deputy Marshal in the town of Roachdale, Indiana. He had been an Adjunct Instructor at Indiana State University and Indiana Vocational Technical College and previously served for seven years as a Firefighter/EMT with the Terre Haute Fire Department.
There are 25 tributes for Special Deputy Enrico Aquino Garcia Jr.
Enrico was by far and away the most dedicated individual I have ever had the privilege to work with, and more importantly to call my friend. Enrico was always the first to offer help to those in need. He was a devoted husband and father, and gave of himself 100% without any desire for recognition or reward. He truly is the definition of "Sheepdog" always watching and waiting to help his flock in times of peril. He was loved by all and will be missed.
