Patrolman Rajchinetz was shot to death in front of his home just after the conclusion of his overnight shift that ended at 6:00 A.M. He had made his final hourly report via telephone from a nearby restaurant and then left for home in a taxicab. The only information regarding the circumstances of his death was that a green vehicle with four occupants was seen speeding away from the scene. No one was ever arrested in the case.
