Reserve Deputy Martin was working a security Detail at Twin Cites Speedway when he was hit and killed by a race car.
Reserve Deputy Martin was hit from behind while talking to a subject about an argument with two others at the track. Apparently the car's accelerator stuck coming out of an outside turn causing the driver to lose control. The vehicle went over the curve, flipping end over end and hitting all four people. Reserve Deputy Martin succombed to his injuries later at Jennings Community Hospital along with the subject he was talking to.
