Patrolman Jacob Manko

Patrolman Jacob Manko died from wounds received four days earlier after being shot by an unknown man he saw walking through a neighborhood early Sunday morning in his stocking feet. When Patrolman Manko hailed the suspicious character, the man turned and fired his .32-caliber revolver, hitting Patrolman Manko in the chest. The officer staggered into a tavern, where he collapsed and died four days later.
