Dear Szuba family and Mishawaka Police Department,

I am sorry for your loss. I know that his death and Ricky's death makes no sense. I hope all of you are able to find some comfort in God and the many prayers that are being said for all of you.

Tom Roberts was my cousin and I know that the support from the community helped us. I can just imagine Jim, Ricky, and Tommy are all together hanging out right now.

In these times no words can express the feeling of sadness or hurt or anger that your family will experience.To Jim's family know this just because the system failed you and your community Jim's fellow officers all over the world will not fail you in your time of need. Also take solice in that Jim and Ricky left this world together and as HERO's just as they served this world.

The tragedy is beyond words-- only prayers at this time may soothe the soul. Prayers from the heart from the wife of a retired JCPS officer. May God be with you as you leave this earth and may your loved ones receive God's grace to continue their journeys. The difference a ploice officer makes in his community spreads out into the world to keep ensuring that good really does outrank evil.
