Ambulance Driver Carmel Blackburn

While returning a patient to his home after release frmo a hospital in Ashland, Kentucky, the ambulance Mr. Blackburn was operating was struck head-on by another vehicle. The driver of the other vehicle had lost control and swered into the lane of the ambulance on Kentucky Highway 3 near Inez.

Mr. Blackburn was pronounced dead at the scene. The patient and his wife were also killed. The patient's daughter and the driver of the other vehicle suffered serious injuries. News accounts do not mention an ambulance attendant.
